Meeting with Janusz Szlechta – Polish-American Journalist and Author

Recently, at the Krakus Senior Center, operating under the Polish & Slavic Center, we had the pleasure of hosting a truly engaging and warmly received meeting with our senior members. Our distinguished guest was Janusz Szlechta – a Polish-American journalist and writer, long associated with the Polish diaspora community in the United States.

During the event, Mr. Szlechta generously shared his professional journey, including his work with “Nowy Dziennik” and Radio Free Europe, as well as the inspirations behind his literary work. His stories—rich in authenticity, reflection, and emotion—captivated the audience and sparked great interest among all participants.

Janusz Szlechta is the author of around 20 publications, including novels, reportages, collections of interviews, and poetry. Among his most recognized titles are:
• “Taming America”
• “The Street of Vagabonds”
• “Seen from Here”
• “Seen from There”
• “Flight Toward Freedom: The Story of a Great Escape During Martial Law”

We extend our sincere gratitude for this inspiring meeting, filled with meaningful conversations, memories, and reflections.

Mr. Szlechta, we are already looking forward to your next book!
