JP2 Friendnship Center at the Brant Foundation Museum May 6

On May 6, members from the John Paul II Freindship Center at CPS took part in a special artistic excursion to the The Brant Foundation, where they had the opportunity to visit an exhibition dedicated to the work of Keith Haring. For many participants, it was not only a chance to experience world-class contemporary art, but also an inspiring encounter with the history of 1980s New York, the energy of street culture, and the artist’s message of freedom, tolerance, and humanity expressed through his work.

From the moment they entered the gallery, visitors were captivated by Haring’s signature colorful figures, dynamic lines, and symbols that became trademarks of his artistic style. The seniors listened with great interest to stories about the artist’s life, his social activism, and his collaboration with New York’s vibrant art scene.

The exhibition also became an opportunity for conversations about art and society. Seniors shared their own reflections and memories connected to New York City, which for decades has remained one of the world’s most important cultural centers.

After the tour, participants spent time together enjoying conversations, and the trip became yet another example of the active work of the John Paul II Senior Club, which regularly organizes cultural events that bring the community together and provide opportunities to engage with art and the city’s history.

For many seniors, it was an unforgettable experience filled with inspiration, emotion, and new artistic discoveries.

We sincerely thank the The Brant Foundation for organizing this complimentary tour for our club.

Special thanks go to exhibition manager Sabrina Marsialisi for her warm welcome and care throughout the visit.
